November 5, 2002--The Internal Revenue Service today issued proposed regulations, which, if adopted, would require a $150 user fee for many Offers-In-Compromise (OIC). November 22, 2002 – The Internal Revenue Service announced today that it has selected the American Arbitration Association to provide a list of qualified neutrals to serve in Section 351 contingent liability tax shelter cases proceeding to binding arbitration.  Read full news release

November 22, 2002 – Mark Scott, Director of the IRS’s Tax Exempt Bonds division, announced today a new outreach coordination effort in the area of arbitrage with the creation of additional tax-exempt bond stakeholder groups and sub-groups. One of the new sub-groups in the Municipal Bond Market Participants Group is for Rebate Consultants, Auditors & Other Professionals.  Read full news release.
