Dana Tompkins is a Stockholder of Tompkins & Peters CPAs, P.C. Her experience in tax, auditing, accounting and financial analysis allows her to specialize in consulting services for business owners. Her expertise derives from working closely with business owners on the development and implementation of business building strategies and her own experience in growing Tompkins & Peters CPAs, P.C. into a progressive multi-office firm. She is skilled in helping businesses develop, implement and manage accounting information systems. Dana also provides management advisory services including performance measurement and assessment of internal controls. Her unique combination of skills and experience has been instrumental in helping a diverse group of business owners build more valuable companies.
Dana also holds the Certified Valuation Analyst certification. Her extensive training and experience as a CVA and CPA provide the necessary background for dealing with the complexities involved in providing Business Valuation Analysis for a broad range of engagements including Mergers and Acquisitions, Liquidations and Reorganizations, and Employee Stock Ownership Plans. She has served in expert witness engagements, provided litigation support, and directed successful negotiations with state and federal agencies.
Dana is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants (NVCPA), the Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA), and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). She is a board member of First Interstate Bank's Advisory Board and served as a board member for six years for a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities achieve independence. Dana is an active member of the Lions Club, having served as Treasurer from 1999-2003. She was Chairperson of the Accounting Careers Committee from 1998-2000 for the NSCPA and has served as an Ambassador for the Henderson, Nevada Chamber of Commerce.
Dana Tompkins moved from Montana to Las Vegas to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1993 and is a practicing CPA licensed in Nevada (CPA#2434) and Montana (CPA#3976). Dana and her husband have two children.
