Karen Alvear

Karen began her IRS career in 1991 as a toll-free telephone assistor, and subsequently held various managerial positions in the Wage & Investment, Small Business & Self Employed, and Large Business & International divisions of the IRS.

In January 2012, she was selected as the Local Taxpayer Advocate for Nevada. In May 2014, she moved to Montana as the LTA for Montana. Her primary responsibilities are assisting individual and business taxpayers who are facing hardship, resolving their problems with the IRS, and identifying issues that impact or otherwise create problems for taxpayers.
