Governmental Accounting Conference
The Montana Society of CPAs’ Governmental Audit, Accounting and Financial Reporting Committee is proud to present a conference that focuses on accounting, auditing and reporting issues affecting Montana’s local governments. This conference has been designed for auditors of local governments, representatives of city, county, town and district governing boards and accountants from city, county, town and school district business offices.
Lisa Parker, CPA is a senior project manager with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Prior to joining the GASB in 2008, Lisa worked for Runyon Kersteen Ouellette CPAs for 10 years, the town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine as finance director and interim town manager for 2 years and the city of Saco, Maine as finance director for 8 years.
- - - This session will give an overview of the GASB pronouncements that become effective in the coming fiscal years and explain some of the projects on GASB’s current technical agenda and research agenda.
Rick Reisig, CPA, Anderson ZurMuehlen, is chairman of NASBA’s Standards Setting Advisory Committee, sits on the Private Company Council’s Agenda Consultation Group, and is a past member of NASBA’s CBT Examination Administration Committee, Relations with Member Boards Committee, Compliance Assurance Committee, CPA Licensing and Examinations Committee, the AICPA’s Board of Examiners and Practice Analysis Sponsor Advisory Group.
- - - It’s an ever-changing environment in the world of auditing! This session will review the most recently issued auditing standards (SAS 132-133), attestation standards (SSAE 18), and the status of audit/attestation/ethics standards exposure drafts still pending.
